Industry Veterans

InVisage Inc. was founded in October 2006, leveraging research and technology from the University of Toronto. It has received traditional venture capital funding. InVisage employs about 30 people based at the company’s headquarters in Menlo Park, CA. InVisage is led by an experienced management team who are veterans of the imaging and materials industries.

Jess Lee - President and CEO
Jess joined InVisage in March of 2007, and brings more than 15 years of high-technology management, marketing, and product development experience. Previously he was the vice president of the Mainstream Business Unit at OmniVision Technologies, where he helped them grow their business from $50M in annual sales to over $500M in four years. Jess’s previous companies include Altera, Silicon Graphics, and Creative Labs. He holds a bachelor’s of applied science and engineering degree in electrical engineering from the University of Toronto.

Ted Sargent - Chief Technology Officer and Founder
Ted holds the rank of professor and Canada research chair in nanotechnology at the University of Toronto. In 2004-6 he was also visiting professor of nanotechnology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2003 Mr. Sargent was named "one of the world's top young innovators" by MIT's Technology Review. He was awarded a Canada Research Chair at the University of Toronto in 2000. He received the B.Sc.Eng. (Engineering Physics) from Queen's University in 1995 and the Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering (Photonics) from the University of Toronto in 1998.

Mike Brading - Vice President of Engineering
Mike joined InVisage in April 2007 and brings over 20 years of integrated circuit design experience from working with design teams all over the globe. Previously he was the director of design and applications at Micron Technology, where he has also held the position of director of engineering for Emerging Markets. Prior to Micron, Mike has also held engineering management positions with LSI Logic. He holds a bachelor’s of science in communication engineering from the University of Plymouth.

Igor Ivanov - Vice President of Research and Development
Igor joined InVisage with over 30 years of material development, process and equipment expertise. Prior to joining InVisage, Igor was the founder, CEO and later the CTO of Blue29, LLC. He has also served as director of process development for Mattson Technology/Steag Electronic Systems and CuTek Research, where he managed the development of both copper electroplating equipment and processes. He was a member of the copper interconnect development team at Advanced Micro Devices and was actively involved in process development programs at Applied Materials, Novellus, and Intel. Igor received his master’s in chemistry and his doctorate in physics from St. Petersburg State University in St. Petersburg, Russia. He holds fourteen patents and has published over 50 papers.
